I am awfully sorry to refuse your kind invitation but I am not able to do as much speaking as usual, owing to my recent illness in Japan and I dare not add anything more to my program in New York.

It would be very nice if I could see you there and I am sure you know how much I regret having to refuse a part in your most interesting undertaking.
