We have at last arranged with Oxford University Press to produce a Centenary Edition of twenty-one volumes of Tolstoy's works in Crown 8vo. with Introductions by eminent writers and with a photogravure frontispiece to each volume. An offer will be made at a to complete the edition later by issuing fourteen additional volumes if a sufficient number of subscribers want it. The prospectus is to be ready in March, the Centenary date being 10th September 1928.
When may I have your Introduction to What Then Must We Do? We are anxious to have them all in hand as soon as may be -- bis dat qui cito date -- any length from 500 words to 3,000.
A set of the edition will be sent you on publication. I am sorry we cannot offer a fee, but the Tolstoy family are in much distress as a result of the Revolution and one half of any profit received by my wife and myself for our work will go to Countess Tatiana Tolstoy for the benefit of the family.
