A PERSONAL LETTER TO FRIENDS OF THE FEDERAL CHILDREN'S BUREAU BILL.

Enclosed is a condensed argument for the Federal Children's Bureau, to which this Committee devoted so much attention during the last session of Congress.

The bill is now in committee in both Houses and we anticipate favorable reports thereon at an early date.

It is important that every Congressman should know the extent of public interest in this measure. Will you vote your share of public influence?

Enclosed is a card we ask you to fill out and return promptly. To do so will involve

(1) Looking up for quick reference the names of the Senators from your State and the Representative from your Congressional District.

(2) The small expense involved in sending a telegram to Washington.

We do not suggest a form for the telegram, preferring that each person express his approval in his own language.

We enclose an addressed envelope for your use, and these cards filed in our office will enable us to know whether every Congressman will, at the proper time, receive notice of the interest of at least one resident of his district.

In addition to the above request, if you will send us the names of persons in your community who might be willing to cooperate in this plan, we shall write them at once.

OWEN R. LOVEJOY,

General Secretary,

A.J. McKELWAY,

Secretary at Washington.
