My dear Mr Kennedy

I thought that our race relations committee had reference to the place of the next settlement Conference and indirectly Mary McDowell had the same impression.

May we suggest the three additions which I have marked in her letter. Could they not be considered if the Committee meets in New York next time as to the best place for our Conference. Des Moines is all right for negroes I think but the N.A.A.C.P. would know.

If the Committee is [a general one?] [page 2] on Race Relations may I not resign [as] Chairman in Miss [Ridley]'s favor. She is full of ideas on the subject and would do it well. We would love to have her as chairman.

I am sending the Barnett report with copies of the letters I am writing to Dame Henrietta and to Mr Mallon.

I am so glad to know the Prohibition report is going so well.

Hastily yours

Jane Addams
