My dear Mr. Kellogg:
Mrs. Bowen has written a book called "Growing Up With Chicago," which has some very interesting and breezy chapters in it. I do not know whether you would like to have one or two chapters describing her early philanthropic efforts put into the Survey as "advance material" or not. They would be amusing and also germane.
May I ask you ↑a question↓ on the ↑a↓ point of fact which was the Cabot -- Hugh was it not, who long ago made the protest as a stockholder of the steel company. Mrs. Bowen had written Dr. Richard Cabot but I think that was a mistake and said I would write you.
How fine the financial report of the Survey was! You must be filled with pride and joy.
Hastily yours,
Jane Addams [signed]
Mr. Paul U. Kellogg,
Editor, The Survey.
