September 20th, 1911.

Dear Miss Addams:

We are very anxious to publish a new photograph of you, with your second article in the December number. We really feel that this is important. Would it be possible for you to go to Boston and have some taken for me? You will probably be starting west soon, and it occurs to me that you might be able to stop either here in New York, or in Boston and sit for a photographer.

We would have to have the prints by the first of October, so you see there is not much time to lose. I hate to ask you to bother about this, when you have so many things to attend to, but I feel that it is very important to have a new picture.

Cordially yours,
S. S. McClure [signed]

Miss Jane Addams,
