McCLURE'S MAGAZINE
44-60 EAST TWENTY-THIRD STREET
NEW YORK

September 16", 1911.

My dear Miss Addams:

Mr. McClure has asked us to send you a set of proofs showing the subheads which we wish to insert in your article. Mr. McClure always wishes to have the articles in the magazine subheaded, but in case you would prefer writing the subheads yourself, he would be very glad to have you do so in the future. In this case, the time was so short that it seemed best to have them written here in the office. If there are any that you wish to change or make substitutions for, may we ask that you will wire the changes at our expense?

Very sincerely yours,
 Editor of McClure's Magazine [signed]
Miss Jane Addams,
Hull's Cove,
Maine.

The enclosed is to go in the November number, and the proofs should be returned at once to insure the author's corrections being made.

EDITOR MCCLURE'S MAGAZINE.
