7 December 1910
Dear Miss Addams,
It was very good of you to send me your new book. Nothing could please me more than to have a copy of "Twenty Years at Hull House" inscribed with your own hand.
The book came several days ago and I delayed an immediate acknowledgment in the hope of being able to read it very soon. As it is, I have had a chance only to dip into it and I cannot longer wait to send you my heartfelt thanks for your kindness.
I know the book is full of interest & inspiration. The summing up of your twenty years of unique service, [page 2] could not be otherwise.
Again let me thank you, dear Miss Addams, for thinking of me. The new book means much; your kind thought means more.
Looking forward to seeing you here next month, and with cordial rememberance in which Mrs White joins, believe me
Faithfully yours,
Gaylord S. White [signed]
