January 19, 1924
My dear Miss Addams:
We chose January 22nd for our Board Meeting as one of the three days in which Judge Mack could be in the city. It conflicts with engagements and absences of other members of the Board, so much so that it seems best to postpone our meeting.
As near as we can judge, the second week in February would be most propitious. The 12th is Lincoln's birthday and the 15th is impracticable for Mrs. Leach to have us at dinner. Will you let me know your preferences for:
Monday, February 11th
Wednesday [February] 13th
Thursday [February] 14th
Saturday [February] 16th
We have good news. Governor Pinchot has definitely agreed to speak at a dinner meeting of Survey Associates on February 25th. This will synchronize with the issuance of our Power Number. (Our Board Meeting will come opportunely ten days earlier and is doubly important in its bearing on the meeting and on the whole year's work.)
We are, of course, issuing invitations to the Pinchot dinner to members of Survey Associates and to Survey readers in New York and environs; but of course Governor Pinchot's personality and social program are of interest to wider groups. We shall be glad [to] have you send us from ten to fifty names of people you think would interested in attending; and whose attendance might prove the means introducing the Survey to them.
Sincerely,
