12 WEST WALTON PLACE

My dear Stanley

I could send you $250.00 for a payment on the land but I have been waiting for an answer to my query as to how much it would take to secure the title. Will it take as much as that or more, and if you go with Y.M.C.A. would you rather have that amount for your first expenses of travel [etc.]

Mr Reynolds has doubtless written to you of our talk last Sunday. I still feel that [page 2] it would be better for you to stay in the "food service" but I will try very hard to see if there is anything available, next week when I [arrive in] New York. Gilbert Beaver is a cousin of ours who is John R. Mott's private secretary and ought to be able to do something for us, if they are in need of more men just now. I expect to leave for N.Y. day after tomorrow and to be there four or five days. I will telegraph from N.Y if any thing special [develops], otherwise I will write you after I get back. [page 3]

John is expecting to go very soon as a chaplain to a hospital unit and I hope to have a visit with him before he starts.

The Xmas pictures of the house and the treasure within are very nice. My love to all of you -- Always your loving aunt
