My dear Miss Addams,
As you doubtless know, the General Federation of Women's Clubs meets in Hot Springs, Arkansas the first week in May. I have been making some suggestions to Mrs. William Pedrick, Jr., Hotel Irving, Gramercy Park, New York, who is chairman of the Program Committee, and have been very glad to have this Division be of every possible service.
I am now writing on behalf of the General Federation to emphasize the invitation which will come to you from Mrs. John Dickinson Sherman, chairman of the Conservation Section, for you to give the chief address on this matter at Hot Springs. I feel sure that there is no opportunity for you to give your message which will compare in importance to this and I sincerely hope that your plans for early May will make possible the acceptance of this invitation.
