My dear Miss Welty:
I acknowledge herewith receipt of money order for $1.00 sent by you as dues for your membership to the Woman's Peace Party. You will receive a formal receipt from the Treasurer in due time. We are very glad indeed to welcome you as a member of the Party and you may receive from time to time material sent out by the office. I am sending you under separate cover some material which we have for free distribution.
I note from your letter-head that you are connected with the Board of Education. We are immensely interested just now in the question of the introduction of military drill into the high-schools of Chicago. If you have any suggestions to make in reference to this matter, I should be very glad if you would call at the office and talk them over with me. I am in the office every [day] from nine until five and should be glad to see you at any time.
Sincerely yours,
Office Secretary
