Since your long and absorbing letter reached me here yesterday, it is needless to say that I have thought of little else.
I want to congratulate you on the happiness which has come into your life and I am sure you know that your happiness is very dear to me.
I will see some of the California people when address the young man sent me, and I will [missing line of text]. [page 2] I am more sorry than ever that New Orleans is impossible for I want to see you very much. We plan to be back in Chicago Sunday morning April 2d. Couldn't you come to see me that week, perhaps we could spend the next Sunday at Cedarville. You really ought to tell your grandmother about it viva voce, you know. When shall I meet the fiancé? Would you like me to come to Girard or will he came to the mountain? Or shall we meet midway?
