12 WEST WALTON PLACE

Dearest Lady

I am planning to leave here Wednesday noon arriving in N.Y. on Thursday morning (10th) about nine o'clock at the Grand Central Station.

Please don't try to meet me, I will do one or two errands in the city first and appear some time during the day.

John Linn leaves very shortly for France as a chaplain to a hospital unit & I may take lunch with him. [page 2]

I want to see Mr Crane for a few minutes some where if possible and also Ernest Poole. It does seem as if one must have more light on the Russian situation -- but I am sure I will get some of it from you.

It is snowing so furiously at the present moment that [traveling] may be imprudent even by Wednesday -- in that case I will write to you again. You are an angel to take me in so often -- Mary sends her best love and I am always devotedly yours
