My dear Friends

I send you these extracts from his early letters to his fellow workers & his last published little Book, but a new one, written last April "The Cheerful Taxpayer" will shortly be out. [page 2]

You will in your kindness read the letter & if you judge it unworthy of your service in his dear memory, you will put it in the waste paper basket dears, & send a prayer across to me that I may be enabled next time to choose more wisely. Yours ever in affection.
