Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House,
Chicago, Ill.

My dear Miss Addams:

I did not learn of your illness until after I had written you or I should not have annoyed you by even suggesting a commission at this time. I beg to extend to you my very sincere sympathy and my very earnest hope that you may find the time to take an abundant rest and soon return to the very best of health and strength.

I shall remember gratefully your expressions of willingness to do something for us, some time, in the way of a lay sermon, and I beg to assure you that I shall take the liberty of calling upon you for this at some future time.

Always, believe me to be, with best wishes,

Very faithfully yours,

Richard Lloyd Jones. [signed]
