It is a long time since I have heard from you. Laura reports a very pleasant visit from Marcet and I hope that the little lady enjoyed it too. I had a very successful journey [although] very much saddened at the end by the news of Mrs Smith's death. I met a teacher from Miss Baldwin's school who has written me the [enclosed] letter which may interest you.
