My dear Mr King

I was obliged to leave Chicago so hastily last Monday that I had time to send but a telegram. I was obliged to give up Oberlin and Titusville but was able to reach here this afternoon. I want of course to fill the Oberlin engagement as quickly as possible. I find that I give a Commencement Address in Columbus Ohio on June [sixth]. I could come to Oberlin then or in connection with Titusville, the date of which has not yet been arranged for. May I write you later and in the meantime express my deep regret that [page 2] I have been obliged to postpone the appointment. My eastern address until March 30: is c/o Nurses Settlement
