You may have seen by the papers that I have become a full fledged "bull moose" and this morning accepted a place on the National Committee. I am sending you a copy of speech of acceptance which really explains my attitude [page 2] better than anything else does.
Poor Weber was only able to stay at home for two nights. It seems almost too much to be borne that he should add [this] keen disappointed to everything else
I go to Bar Harbor on [page 3] Monday and will probably be there [through] most of Sept.
