My dear Madam,

Your favor of the 17" inst. to Miss Addams received. I am very sorry to say she that it is impossible for her to make any new lecture engagements at present. Her work in connection with the Board of Education is so exacting as to make it necessary to give up outside things. She regrets this exceedingly and would be glad to make an exception in favor of Rockford College if it were at all possible.
