Of course you may say -- and please do say it, -- that I will not stay in the [illegible] for another year, boiling oil is preferable, say I.
I can't imagine that the board could repudiate the debts. I know for one thing that the Chicago members can't. [page 2] I will write to Miss Blackwell, I had no idea she felt that we weren't ""[wid?]" her.
I am going to be in N.Y. Wed. Sept 25" arriving at 8. A.M. It would be awfully nice if you could come down for a Board meeting then or in Boston the 24th. We ought to do something.
