Chicago Ill 12

Miss Wald 265 Henry St

Miss Lathrop would not consider seeking the appointment but would serve if the president desired. Miss [addams] feels that she is undoubtedly better equipped [than] anyone so far suggested we cannot conceive of a more ideal appointment considering executive ability sympathy deliberate sane [judgment] combined with years of experience on the state board of charities with the chicago juvenile court and as graduate trustee of vassar college in our opinion womans ability could have no better demonstration than would result from her appointment please communicate this promptly to other members of the committee.
