HULL'S COVE
MAINE

My dear Mrs Lovett

We had a very comfortable journey but were very grateful for all the books during the second morning. The [Nutt family] was especially popular and have been a topic of conversation ever since as well as the kind donor who is known as "Nancy Jane's mother" in spite of one or two [corrective?] statements. Boston was in a very characteristic mood, and the little reception at South End was very nice and Bostonish. [page 2]

I unpacked my trunk full of gratitude for the dear packer. My foot is much better, I was able to walk over to Mrs Bowen's yesterday with really no pain.

We are all much excited by the prospect that we may have a visit from you and Nancy Jane this summer. I assure you one small girl more could not add to the riot of joyful noise which we very much enjoy.

Always dear friend, affectionately yours,

Jane Addams.
