December 8, 1926.

My dear Mrs. Robins,

Mary Smith and I are very much touched by your kind invitation for this winter. I have been living with Mary on the North Side since my return from Europe in September. I had a heart attack in the Summer from which I am convalescing slowly and the doctors have advised my living over here. I am so much better that I am beginning to feel like a ↑fraud↓ but Dr. Herrick may still insist on a Spring away from Chicago. ↑In that case↓ Mary and I plan to go down somewhere on the Gulf, in that case it might be altogether possible that we could accept your kind invitation for a week or ten days. May we write you later as our plans develop and assure you that we both very much appreciate your kind letters.

Affectionate greetings to Mr. Robins and yourself, I am

Faithfully yours,

Jane Addams [signed]

Mrs. Raymond Robins,
Brooksville, Florida.
