December 4, 1926.
My dear Julius:
I am in receipt of yours of December 2d, enclosing a copy of a letter to Abel Davis and a copy of an editorial from the New York World.
The only suggestion that I have to make is the suggestion that I have already made to Abel Davis, which is that Watkins should make an apology for an error in judgment.
Nobody in the city, I believe, has probably made more mistakes or apologized more frequently than have I, and it always makes me feel better, and as far as I am concerned it has never weakened me or made my position less easy to maintain because of frankly admitting an error when it is made.
Thanking you very much for sending me your letter. I think that Davis is the man who is best fitted for taking this matter up with Watkins.
Yours very truly,
A. A. Sprague [signed]
