Dear Friend
Your letter almost makes me forsake the Summer School of the W.I.L to fly to your side but dates for lectures are inexorable. Our tarrying ↑in↓ Ireland has not wholly due to her charms, great as they are, but this particular fortnight seemed to be the [page 2] only chance for recovery from the strain of the International Congress.

Thank you for it.
Mary Smith sends her affectionate greetings to you and Miss [Paterson] and I am
Always your devoted
Jane Addams
