Miss Jane Addams:
-- I wondered if Mrs. Blaine would care to see a Quaker friend of mine, Miss Anna [Haines] -- Who has spent some time in Russia, -- And is interested in starting a school for trained nurses in Moscow.
(Mrs. Angster took over the telephone)
Mrs. A: -- This is Mrs. Blaine's secretary, Miss Addams.
-- Mrs. Blaine asked me to say that she would be exceedingly interested -- But she is afraid she could not for many days make an appointment ahead -- She is afraid she could not within a short time. -- If, within 10 days, she would like it, -- But she infers it is for just now. -- She is saying she could not have it immediately.
Miss A: (Interrupting)
-- She is here only for a few days, -- But she may go to Milwaukee, in which case she may come back this way. -- If so, may I call up then?
Mrs A: -- Yes, Miss Addams.
-- Mrs. Blaine is on another wire, -- Or she would have the pleasure of speaking herself.
Miss A: -- Thank you. Then I will do that. -- Good-bye.
