Dear Jane Addams:

Please find enclosed my check for $2.00 for convention. I wish I could make it larger. We have been unable to continue our branch here, [but] the P.E.O and the Fortnightly have done much good work for the cause of peace, in Boulder this season. The latter had their entire season's program devoted to the subject of the cause and cure of war. [page 2]

My own circumstances have been such that no active work for the cause could be undertaken, and I see no prospect of a change for several years. Our dear niece who is 19 months out of Russia is here with us as a University student, and her continued residence depends on her grades. My work is to assist her with her studies and keep her encouraged besides my small housework. I am sending my dues, for the year ahead, to headquarters by this mail.

Affectionately yours,
Estella Tarkoff
