You are most kind to send me the lovely bag for Christmas for which I am very grateful. I hope you are going to be able to come to the concert or to some of the other festivities this year.

I am sending you a piece of Chinese jade which is genuine and well carved. I quite lost my heart to jade in China, I am sorry it has been put in an absurd piece of silk for a book mark but you can take it off if you want to. With all good wishes of the season I [am] devotedly yours
