My dear Mr. Kellogg:
I have some material on the effect of Russia in regard to the panic all over the world but I am afraid it is not in any shape to be used. I am going to write it sometime under a heading of "The Time Element In Social Reform" and I shall be very glad to send it to you then.
Mrs. Seltzer, whose husband is Thomas Seltzer the publisher, has the manuscript of Dr. Jacob's book but is most uncertain about publishing it. Would you call ↑her up↓ in my name and say I suggested publishing some of it in the Survey and you would like to look it over with that in mind. The earlier chapters are quite as interesting as Mrs. Webb's and really more than ↑nothing of Mrs Webb's is as interesting↓ her description of the way she became interested through her work in the English hospital in social hygiene, is one of the most thrilling stories that I know. I hope we are going to be able to have it published. It is a very human document and has already had a good sale in Holland where it was published on ↑her↓ the seventieth birthday, of course in Dutch.
It was great pleasure to meet with the group in New York and I want to congratulate you upon the progress your whole group of publications are making.
↑P.S. Please excuse this badly written letter.↓
