TO MEMBERS OF THE F.P.A. CONTRIBUTING $10 OR OVER:

You will be interested in the enclosed leaflets telling the story of our recently organized Research Department. Seven months ago this Department was an idea, a hope. Today it is one of the most important branches of our work, functioning as a fact-finding agency for editors, professors, lecturers, business men and study groups throughout the country.

A notable contribution of the Research Department is its Information Service, consisting of fortnightly reports on current international questions and a series of supplementary studies on somewhat larger problems. From the first, this Service has been in great demand by organizations and individuals interested in the background of international affairs.

Beginning with Volume II., we have, after consultation with several practical newspaper men, made a number of improvements in form and content. The Reports are now printed instead of mimeographed and contain a carefully selected list of references. Most of them will be supplemented by maps. In addition, we have added a series of supplementary studies on subjects where data are not readily available. The first of these, "The Near East: A Survey of Political Trends in 1925," was sent you last week.

The Information Reports have until now been sent on demand without charge, but we cannot continue to do this because of the heavy cost of preparation. A subscription price, therefore, has been set at $3 a year for Associate and Regular members. You, however, as a contributor of $10 (or over) are entitled to receive the service without further charge. We will gladly put you on the mailing list if you will indicate your interest by filling in the enclosed bank and returning it to us.

Sincerely yours,

Christina Merriman [signed]
Secretary.
