Dear Mrs. Lovett
Miss Wald has been in bed for several days with what threatened to be a serious malady. She is better today, so much better that Miss Landázuri and I are going to [Guadalajara] tonight for two days but Mary Smith insists upon staying here. She has a good American doctor & a trained nurse and we all hope to leave on the 3d as we have planned.
Mary and I will be in [page 2] to Colorado Springs by the 6" or 7" at the Antlers Hotel Colorado Springs, Colorado, it will be very nice to find some letters there. You have all been awfully good about writing. We have been entertained a great deal and have seen all kinds of people up and down, it has been a most interesting journey. I hope you don’t mind all the packages I am having sent to you. There will be a big box from [Guadalajara] I expect, added to all the rest.
Mary sends her love to you and to H.H. and as does yours devotedly
