My dear Miss Glücklich:

I was quite surprised to hear from Mme. Gobat telling about your resignation and for the resignation itself. I need not to tell you how sorry I am that you feel that you must take this step. I know how hard it has been with the changes and restrictions which have been necessary during the last year, but I hoped all that was becoming adjusted.

I feel that the entire matter will have to be taken up by the executive committee and I am sure you have warm friends and ↑there↓ that they will want to come to a decision which shall not only justify but also shall be in accordance with your suggestions and I hope [perhaps] ↑that↓ they may induce you to reconsider.

I am just returning from a month in Mexico which I found most delightful and stimulating. I ↑am very [fond] of [illegible] [written down left margin] you [put?] [illegible] [page(s) missing]
