Jane Addams of Hull House said: “I have not given the matter a sufficient amount of study to be in a position to render judgment, but see no reason why the organization should not prove a success.”

Upon being asked what she thought of the plan to extend the scope of the organization so that other working women might be admitted she said: “While it may be all right to extend the field of operations, I hope the promoters of the organizations will not lose sight of the original idea, that of forming an organization to elevate domestics and improve their conditions.”
