Dear Florence Taussig --

How good you are about Thora Daugaard. I will write her to use the 100.00 to come on here, the Chicago Branch can pay her a fee big enough to get her to Washington & there we are!

The [enclosed] material is for Edith Pye, apparently we will have to hurry her on to N.Y. & home.

Please have them take a cab at the station in Chicago & come at once for breakfast to 12 West Walton Place to Mary Smith's house. I will be there to greet them. [page 2]

On this page (not for publication) I am going to ask a favor which Mary Smith won't like, voila! Could you come to Washington via Chicago and let me go with you, they won't let me travel alone & I don't want Mary to take the journey. Of course it will be more expensive [illegible] and I am sorry for that. Do come up one day before stay the night with me at Mary's house so she can tell you about my "heart" -- (drat it!) & then do [let's] go on together! If this isn't possible, do let me know [written up right margin] and I will understand.

Always devotedly yors Jane Addams

[written at top of page 2] P. S. (a dead secret) It would relieve the situation if Mde Drevet would also sail with Miss Pye -- JA
