International Peace Congress.
THE HAGUE Dec 11" 1922
My dear Friend --
May I write you from here -- the 2d Congress during a long & dull French speech? I am being sent from our own Congress on a mission to Denmark, Sweden ↑Norway, England and France,↓ with a French woman & an English one and we will reach England from Copenhagen Dec 24" -- I do not know what the first plans for me will be, but surely my first voluntary act will be to see you. Our headquarters in London are at International House 55 Gower St, I will ask Mrs Swanwick to write you from there when the plans are further developed. Capt Ellis has also agreed that we would better not attempt any thing save a meeting in Paris on Jany 8" or 9" with the French delegates and possibly with the English as well but concerning the latter proposition I agree with you. I shall hope to meet the English delegates in England and the French in Paris, there is little we can do now for 1925 unless it were to send an organizer to the various countries to [secure finances and] appointment of delegates. We had a fine Congress and are all in good spirits about it. I hope it will be of use, it is certainly a good thing for the various women to get together -- I have a very imposing list of affiliated organizations (111 of them) and a who's who to show you. It is you however that I want to see, but you must not let me impose upon your strength or hospitality. Always devotedly yours Jane Addams
