2300 S STREET
WASHINGTON, D.C.

My dear Miss Addams,
On my return from a short trip in the West, I find awaiting me your book, "Peace and Bread."
I appreciate so much your thought of me in sending it, and I am looking forward to reading it with a great deal of eager anticipation, -- for I know I shall get so much pleasure therefrom.
But I only wish that I might see you some time soon, and have a real chat with you, rather than having to content myself with reading you in a book! Do be sure to let me know if you are ever in the vicinity of Washington.
Again, with many many thanks, I am
Yours,
Most gratefully,
Lou Henry Hoover [signed]
