Miss Jane Addams,
Chairman, Board of Trustees,
Hull House Association,
800 So. Halsted St., Chicago.

My dear Miss Addams:

In view of the present needs of Hull House, I have decided to turn over to Hull House Association, Bonds having a total par value $250,000., in lieu of making provision for Hull House in my will, and I have directed Mr. Charles Hull Ewing, my agent, to deliver the said Bonds to you upon your request, as per copy of letter to him enclosed herewith.

It is my desire that the principal amount of these Bonds be reinvested as they mature and kept as an Endowment Fund for Hull House, without restriction as to use of income, except that one-fourth of said income, as collected, be set aside in a separate account for reinvestment in convenient amounts and for addition to the principal of the Endowment Fund until it shall amount to a total of $300,000.

It is also my desire that Mr. Charles Hull Ewing be elected to the Board of Trustees of Hull House Association, in my place, as long as he will consent to serve, and I hereby tender my resignation as a member of the Board of Trustees.

I also request that no publicity be given to this gift.

Yours very truly,

Helen Culver. [signed]
