My dear Mr Kellogg

As you see by the [enclosed] letter from Mr [Sedgwick], I quite forgot the sort of article which he had asked me for, [although] I discovered my mistake before I sent the wrong thing to him and made it easy for him to refuse, which the same he did. I had also written one for the Yale Review and I think he did not like that too well.

At any rate the article is on my hands. Do you care for it?

You might make the coming of Mrs Barnett in September to talk on Housing an excuse for reviving an interest in the book, or publish this now with the statement that she is coming.

We missed you very much at New Orleans.

Hastily yours,

Jane Addams [signed]
