Biographical Text

Alice Chipman Dewey was an advocate for women franchise and an educational reformer. After visiting China from 1918 to 1920, she became interested in the issues faced by the Chinese students in the US.

Dewey married John Dewey in 1886. They had six children together. Dewey died in 1927.
