Dear Sister--

I have thought of you every day during the stock yard strike and wished with all of my heart that I might be of some use or comfort to you. During the last few days when it has all seemed to go so badly, I find myself wanting to rush back. I am planning to be back in [page 2] Chicago Friday Aug 5" but I could get away earlier. If you see anything in the world that I could do, will you telegraph me here c/o The Willey House.

Mary Smith and I have had a lovely fortnight together here, in the Dewey's cottage. She is better and I am well save for my anxiety.

Always affectionately yours

July 26" 1904
