My dear Alice
The Corn Exchange Bank man took up the question of your situation exactly as if he had been a financial doctor. He insists that you are unduly frightened and that you may not need the money at all. If you do however he is willing to agree to supply you with 5-10-20 thousand dollars <etc.> if you make out the preliminary statement which Mr. Burlingham sent you directly by mail yesterday. I am sure the banks here know what they are talking about and they have all agreed to stand by the "corn by banks" as they call them. I am sure that this arrangement is sound. I do hope that you are not worrying.
