Biographical Text

George Perris was a journalist and activist. Since 1883, George wrote for The Speaker for ten years and Concord, a pacifist journal, for eight years. He was a founder and Honorary Secretary of both the Anglo-Russian and Anglo-German Friendship Committee. He was also the foreign editor of The Tribune and The Daily News. Perris was also a pacifist and a member of the International Arbitration and Peace Association. He also served as Secretary of the Cobden Club. During World War I, he was a correspondent for The London Daily Chronicle, which has been his most well-known journalistic achievement.

Perris was married to Mary Annie Perris. They had three children: Noel Felix, Sylvia, and Katherine. Perris died in 1920.
