THE OAK
SWARTHMORE, PA.

My dear Miss Addams: --

It is dreadful of me not to have written long ago to thank you for the photographs you sent to me. The partial explanation is this. I had not thought of asking you to do such a thing and knew nothing about it. Perhaps you will remember that it was entirely Mr Hull's affair, and when they came accompanied by a letter, Mr Hull kept them from me entirely, and produced them on Christmas Eve as a [page 2] surprise to me. So you see I did not receive them as soon as they were sent but I have been intending to write you ever since Christmas to thank you and to tell you of my great delight in having them. I like the three-quarters one especially. It was so good of you to send us two. We shall value them very highly, I assure you.

Mr Hull told me of seeing you, and of the meeting in New York -- ↑and how successful you were in guiding Prof Clark's resolution into the right channel.↓ I hope you reached home safely without undue delay. -- [page 3]

I have been wondering whether to offer to you a suggestion which has occurred to me but which of course you must not feel obliged in the least to follow. Once in a while we venture to talk of the great day when Peace will be declared wondering where the Conference will be, & what organizations will hold other conferences etc. -- If Mr Hull is to go, I should like very much to go too, and I am wondering whether you still have the number [intact] to go from the W.P.P. If some have fallen by the way or for other reasons have dropped out, I venture to [page 4] let you know how glad I should be to receive your consideration. I should feel dreadfully to embarrass you in the matter, and of course you will not allow me to do so. -- Please just take the suggestion for what it is worth when the time comes, if there happens to be a need for additional women. -- Meanwhile, do not even reply to this letter or make any explanation.

With cordial greetings, I am

Affectionately yours,

Hannah Clothier Hull.
