My dear Miss Addams:
The California Federation of Women's Clubs is anxious to secure you as a speaker for a large meeting in behalf of Food Conservation to be held in San Joaquin Valley on a date which would be convenient for you. Mrs. W. A. Fitzgerald, of Fresno, President of the California Federation, suggests that if the meeting could be held early in October it could take place in the Fresno civic auditorium which will seat between three and four thousand people. Fresno is [equidistant] from San Francisco and Los Angeles, and Mrs. Fitzgerald assures us that if your services can be secured, a record-breaking crowd will be in attendance.
We appreciate very much your willingness to represent us before the Michigan Federation on October 16, and are taking the liberty of asking if it will be possible for you to make the trip to California and, if so, at what time and under what conditions. We will be grateful if you will wire your reply to this office collect.
