My dear Miss Addams:

The delay in acknowledging receipt of your letter of the 2nd instant, with reference to speaking in California, is due to an accumulation of work in this office.

We trust that by this time you have fully recovered from your attack of bronchitis and that you will enjoy good health from now on.

Since the California women are so anxious to have you speak to them we have written Mrs. Fitzgerald and suggested that they arrange a meeting for you after Christmas. When we hear from her again we will advise you further in the matter.

We are more than appreciative of your willingness to speak for Food Conservation twice a month and shall no doubt be writing you again in a short time.

Sincerely,

U.S. Food Administration
