I think you have done awfully well with the accounts, and I am delighted that you took the most satisfactory davenport.
I am [enclosing] this check for the hammock, including something for chains to hang it up by. [page 2]
I hope that the running water and other things will soon be completed and that you aren't working too hard.
Can't you keep the German woman for some weeks to help you until you are rested from all the strain. I do hope that Jane hasn't the measles. With love to you all, Devotedly yrs Jane Addams [page 4]
P.S. I am returning the bill with your money [illegible] in case the davenport breaks down -- won't you find out how much linen cover will cost. They can be put right over the other of course and taken off in winter. [illegible] how much they would be.
