Grove Park Inn, Asheville, N. C.
My dear Alice
This is a wonderfully comfortable hotel in a beautiful mountain spot, [although] it has snowed or rained almost every minute since we have been here. We have done a lot of writing and sleeping however and are feeling very fine. [page 2]
I am very sorry to give up Girard, but as you see by the [enclosed] Atlanta seems pretty [exigent] and I will be only four hours away at Birmingham.
I sent you some clippings about Miss Starr yesterday. I do hope you will see Marcet in Chicago, if you stayed at The [Congress] Hotel there would be no stairs, or perhaps you could come to H. H. [page 3] after my return March 16". I do hope that I will have a [change] to see the little lady act.
Mrs Bowen sends her love to you.
Always your devoted sister
