My dear Marcet
We have decided that along of the Mexican troubles that we won't go back by way of El Paso -- it seems as if we were rushing into delays and difficulties unnecessarily. That means no New Orleans just now, but I hope that it also [influences?] a visit in Chicago before very long. I am sending this off at once that you may not be [chasing?] about your plans unnecessarily. I continue to [improve] and quite enjoy this hot weather.
