Jane Addams to Julia Grace Wales, March 25, 1915

March 25, 1915

My dear Miss Wales: --

Would it be possible for you to consider going with us to The Hague to attend the Conference called by "the women of the neutral and belligerent nations" for the 28th, 29th and 30th of April?

I am enclosing a copy of the Call and [program]. About fifteen women from the Woman's Peace Party are planning to go and it would be a great thing if you could go with us. The fact that you formerly lived in Canada wouldn't make the least difference in the world. In the first place, six well known English women have signed the call; in the second place, we should be only too happy to have you a member of our delegation. It might be the one <[greatest]> opportunity to push forward your plan!

I do hope you will consider it.

Sincerely yours,

Jane Addams. [signed]

Miss J. G. Wales
Madison, Wisconsin.
